Current health trends are locating patient services out of main hospital campuses and in the neighboring communities within closer proximity to the users. University Hospital sought to place prompt care, pediatric, primary health, occupational medicine, and internal medicine services in the South Richmond County area. The design uses a "medical mall" concept, where medical specialty pods are plugged into a pedestrian mall like stores. This helps the users to connect visually and with their destination, increasing comfort levels for the users.
